Big Brown ripped half a hoof off in a last-minute piece of homework for the Breeders Cup Classic yesterday (13th Oct 2008) and has been retired. The long-awaited clash between Big Brown and Curlin will now never happen. The Kentucky Derby winner did a serious breeze with Kip Deville on Aqueduct's turf track. Upon pulling up the injury to Big Brown became apparent. It resulted in a shake-up in the betting for the Breeders Cup Classic.
