Curlin's dirt return gives Breeders Cup green light |
|
CURLIN, the world's best racehorse according to handicap ratings, saw a successful return to dirt when winning the Woodward Stakes on his first Saratoga run yesterday (30/08/2008). He blew away memories of the woeful effort on his turf debut last time and had his owner, Jess Jackson, dreaming of conquering the world once again - just not on turf. Jackson expects Curlin to run
in the Jockey Club Gold Cup before his bid to land the Breeders Cup Classic,
for which he is a clear favourite in the
Breeders Cup betting. Fortunately the horse is trained by Steve Asmussen, who will surely have Curlin's best interests at heart despite all the big money on offer.
