CURLIN will face a crucial workout on the artificial track at Santa Anita on Monday (October 13). Curlin was proved far less effective on turf than dirt, when beaten by Red Rocks, and some commentators believe that Santa Anita's all-weather track allies itself closer to turf than dirt. Irrespective of how the trial goes, Curlin is sure to line-up for the big race, The Breeders Cup Classic on October 25. Trainer Steve Asmussen's assistant said: "The trial wont be fast, it will just give Curling a feel of the surface."
