Trainer Mike Mitchell wants UK-based Frankie Dettori to ride one of his horses in the first running of The Breeders Cup Marathon.

Dettori has been offered the mount on Church Service in the mile and a half event. Rafael Bejarano takes the ride on the other Mitchell runner in the race, Big Booster.

However the Breeders Cup Marathon is also a possible target for his regular UK ride Sixties Icon. Church Service's form has not been too special this season and he would be one of the likely outsiders in the event.

Dettori is the most prosperous European jockey at the Breeders Cup, with half a dozen victories to his name, so it is little wonder he is in serious demand.
