Ginger Punch lands knockout blow in Distaff

Trainer Bobby Frankel landed a fifth Breeders Cup victory when Ginger Punch narrowly denied Hystericalady to land the Breeders Cup Distaff on Saturday October 27, 2007.

Ginger Punch's owner Frank Stronach had a few reservations about supplementing his winner, but Frankel had twisted his arm.

The eye-catcher in the race was Octave, virtually tailed off in the back stretch but came with a flying run to be beaten less than a quarter of a length into third at the line.
