Purple Moon, who caught the eye when a running on sixth in the Caulfield Cup, will be ridden by Damien Oliver in the Melbourne Cup on November 6. The English raider, trained by Luca Cumani, encountered trouble in running in the Caulfield Cup and poses a big danger to local favourite Master O'Reilly. Damien Oliver is no stranger to Melbourne Cup
glory as he has won the race twice, in 1995 on Doriemus and on Media Puzzle
in 2002.
